Improving Your Subscription Experience


In early 2025, we introduced a temporary subscription program to support our longtime subscribers during our transition to Shopify. This allowed existing subscriptions to continue uninterrupted while we built out our new system. We called it our Legacy program, and truly it is! Some of you folks have been with us since the very beginning of our subscription service from way back in 2018 and for that a huge THANK YOU.

Now, nearly a year later, we’re officially retiring the legacy subscription service.

What this means:

  • Legacy subscriptions (identified by 5-digit order numbers) will be phased out.
  • Legacy subscription data cannot be automatically migrated into Shopify.
  • To continue a subscription, a new subscription will need to be created on our current Shopify platform.
  • There is no automatic migration, Gracenote staff is handling this personally via email services
  • We’re planning to complete this process for all legacy subscriptions by late February, but there’s no immediate rush — we just wanted to make sure you’re aware of what to expect.

Why we’re making this change

The legacy program was designed as a temporary bridge during our transition to Shopify and operates on infrastructure that is no longer actively supported or scalable. Retiring it allows us to consolidate all subscriptions into a single, modern system with consistent data handling, improved reliability, and better long-term support. Our current platform provides customers with direct access to subscription management features—including pausing or skipping shipments, adjusting quantities or delivery schedules, and updating account details—while enabling us to maintain system stability, reduce manual intervention, and ensure accuracy across fulfillment and billing. It sounds like a lot, and it is! 

What to do next

  • You may continue your legacy subscription for a short time longer. You’re welcome to cancel your legacy subscription yourself, or we can assist with deactivation on your behalf. Get in touch!
  • We plan to complete the transition for all legacy subscribers by February.
  • When you’re ready, you can create a new subscription on Shopify using a link down below.
  • As a thank-you for continuing with us, we’re offering a discounted subscription rate to customers specifically migrating from the legacy program.
